Joyous Naw Ruz

After 19 days of fasting, It is now time to celebrate the Baha'i New Year - Naw Ruz

It has been kinda fast going thru this 19 days and now its the beginning of a whole new Baha'i Year...

Praised be Thou, O my God, that Thou hast ordained Naw-Rúz as a festival unto those who have observed the fast for love of Thee and abstained from all that is abhorrent unto thee. Grant, O my Lord, that the fire of Thy love and the heat produced by the fast enjoined by Thee may inflame them in Thy Cause, and make them to be occupied with Thy praise and with remembrance of Thee.

Since thou hast adorned them, O my Lord, with the ornament of the fast prescribed by Thee, do Thou adorn them also with the ornament of Thine acceptance, through Thy grace and bountiful favor. For the doings of men are all dependent upon Thy good-pleasure, and are conditioned by Thy behest. Shouldst Thou regard him who hath broken the fast as one who hath observed it, such a man would be reckoned among them who from eternity had been keeping the fast. And shouldst Thou decree that he who hath observed the fast hath broken it, that person would be numbered with such as have caused the Robe of Thy Revelation to be stained with dust, and been far removed from the crystal waters of this living Fountain.

Thou art He through Whom the ensign "Praiseworthy art Thou in Thy works" hath been lifted up, and the standard "Obeyed art Thou in thy behest" hath been unfurled. Make known this Thy station, O my God, unto Thy servants, that they may be made aware that the excellence of all things is dependent upon Thy bidding and Thy word, and the virtue of every act is conditioned by Thy leave and the good pleasure of Thy will, and may recognize that the reins of men's doings are within the grasp of Thine acceptance and Thy commandment. Make this known unto them, that nothing whatsoever may shut them out from Thy Beauty, in these days whereon the Christ exclaimeth: "All dominion is Thine, O Thou the Begetter of the Spirit (Jesus)"; and Thy Friend (Muhammad) crieth out: "Glory be to Thee, O Thou the Best-Beloved, for that thou hast uncovered thy Beauty, and written down for Thy chosen ones what will cause them to attain unto the seat of the revelation of Thy Most Great Name, through which all the peoples have lamented except such as have detached themselves from all else except Thee, and set themselves towards Him Who is the Revealer of Thyself and the Manifestation of Thine attributes."

He Who is Thy Branch and all Thy company, O my Lord, have broken this day their fast, after having observed it within the precincts of Thy court, and in their eagerness to please Thee. Do Thou ordain for Him, and for them, and for all such as have entered Thy presence in those days all the good Thou didst destine in Thy Book. Supply them, then, with that which will profit them, in both this life and in the life beyond.

Thou, in truth, art the the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
~Baha'u'llah
So...too all the Baha'is out there.....JOYOUS NAW RUZ!!!!! May you be of service to all of mankind!!

what COLOUR is LOVE?

I put this on my MSN personal message about more than a week ago and since then i have been getting all kinds of responses to it....

Some say its red, cuz its romantic...red flowers

Some say pink, cuz its cheerful

Some say its transparent, cuz it undescribable

A friend told me its grey, cuz its uncertain, neither black nor white

Another friend said its green, just because it was St. Patrick's Day

Well, i got this "what colour is love?" from Gwen Stefani's Song "Long Way To Go" and i really like the song and think that it is really meaningfull.... So hear goes the lyrics.....listen to the song if you get the chance!!!!

We've got a long way to go
When snow hits the asphalt, cold looks and bad talk come
We've got a long way to go
It's beyond Martin Luther, upgrade computer

Her/His skin wasn't the same color as mine
But she/he was fine, she/he was fine
If all men are made equal
Then she/he was fine, she/he was fine
Up until the time we went out on a date
I was fine, I was fine
Now I'm getting dirty looks, I wonder what they'd say
If we were blind, we were blind people

We've got a long way to go
When snow hits the asphalt, cold looks and bad talk come
We've got a long way to go
It's beyond Martin Luther, upgrade computer
We've got a long way to go
When snow hits the asphalt, cold looks and bad talk come
We've got a long way to go
It's beyond Martin Luther, upgrade computer

Beauty is beauty, whether it's black or white
Yellow or green baby, you know what I mean
What if Picasso only used one color
There shouldn't be a rule, how to choose your lover

Lovers in love is such a wonderful thing
Maybe in time, we'll get together and sing
I really hope so, there's nothing wrong with this picture
We got a long way to go, we gotta get there quicker

We've got a long way to go
When snow hits the asphalt, cold looks and bad talk come
We've got a long way to go
It's beyond Martin Luther, upgrade computer
We've got a long way to go
When snow hits the asphalt, cold looks and bad talk come
We've got a long way to go
It's beyond Martin Luther, upgrade computer

What color is love [3x]

We've got a long way to go
When snow hits the asphalt, cold looks and bad talk come
We've got a long way to go
It's beyond Martin Luther, upgrade computer
We've got a long way to go
When snow hits the asphalt, cold looks and bad talk come
We've got a long way to go
It's beyond Martin Luther, upgrade computer

...that all men are created equal...
...children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by...
...by the color of their skin...
...but by the content of their character...
...this will be the day when all of God's children...
...will be able to sing with new meaning...
...not only that...

so i guess for me....love knows no colours.....love is colour blind....and i guess sometime being colour blind would make us better people, not being able to discriminate and judge others by what colour they are......

The weekend is over!

Saturday was a long day for me....

Woke up at about 7am to be on time for one-day CPR course in the college....

Learned how to give CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), the Heimlich Meneuver for choking both for babies and adults, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation...those stuff you watch on baywatch!!!hahahaha

It isnt easy as you see it on tv. Do it wrongly and you can cause more damage than good. We had this dummy to practice on and it had sensors on it.. give too much air, the red light goes on, if you do the chess compressions too hard, too soft, wrong place, the red light comes on. If you done it correctly, green light comes on....

We had both practical and written test. The practical test was stressful, because you're scared that you'll miss a part out....sigh..i really hope that i didn't screw it up...but i think i screwed up the CPR for adult...the examiner was damn irritating....i think he was so sleepy that he kinda didnt have the mood to examine us....he was murmuring everything he was saying and i couldn't catch what he was talking about...i had to ask so many times to get what he was saying....The other 2 practical test, choking on an adult and CPR on the baby went smoothly.....

As i was rushing for time, they gave me the written test earlier. The test was kinda easy, just hope that i dont do careless mistakes. I need to get 75% to pass this whole course and to get a certificate for it.

After the course, rush back home to get ready to go to Kyle and Kaelyn's birthday party at SOULed OUT at Sri Hartamas...The party was nice, food was good expecially the pasta...loved it..i was so hungry before (fasting) but was so full after the dinner!

Today, woke up to no electricity. It was getting warm so decided to go to Alamanda in Putrajaya. Bought 2 shorts there for RM 13.90 (buy 1 free 1) at F.O.S.....bargian!!! I'm a total bargian-shopper....if you've seen all my previous post about shopping...all the items that i get are all very cheap......I'm cheap...:P

Anyway, a couple of comments came in about the cute guy i have been eyeing...hahaha...i dont think that i'll go and so called "introduce" myself la....i just think he is cute la...nothing more than that, i think?!

drooll....

i saw that cute guy as i was walking to college again.....droolss..........

I just hope that he didn't see that grin on my face after seeing him.......it would be so malu-fying!!!!!

SO CUTE

First day of Fasting

Today was my first day of my 19-days fasting. It wasnt too bad eventhough i didn't have any breakfast. As the days go by...it should get better!

Since it's the fasting month, something to read about the Baha'i Fasting if you guys are wondering...

The Bahá'í Fast

The Bahá'í fast is established in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas and occupies much the same preeminent position that it does in Islam. Several passages in the writings of Bahá'u'lláh lay stress on its importance, listing it with the obligatory prayer as among the greatest of the ritual obligations.

According to Bahá'u'lláh Himself, the Bahá'í fast is adapted from the fast ordained in the Bayan. The Báb's fast, mentioned in both the Arabic and Persian Bayans, occupied the last month of the Bábí calendar, the month of `Ala', roughly 2-20 March. Believers were to fast from the age of eleven (numerically equivalent to huva, `He') until forty-two (bala, `Yea'). Children could fast until noon for the first eleven days. Those over forty-two were exempted from fasting. Those fasting had to abstain from food, drink and sexual relations from sunrise to sunset -- preferably from slightly before sunrise until slightly after sunset. No exemptions are mentioned. The real meaning of the fast, the Báb said, was abstention from the love of other than the Manifestation of God. The continuation of the fast was contingent on the acceptance of Him Whom God shall make manifest.

Although Bahá'u'lláh accepted the fast of the Báb, He altered the details of its regulations in many important respects. The Bahá'í fast is binding on all believers from the age of maturity, which for Bahá'ís is fifteen, until seventy. There is no provision made for children fasting. The following individuals are exempted from fasting: Travellers, providing their journey is to last at least nine hours or two hours on foot. If they break their journey for more than nineteen days, they are only exempt for the first three days after their arrival. If they return home, they must begin fasting on arrival. The sick. Women who are pregnant or nursing. Women who menstruating, who must instead repeat the phrase `Glorified be God, the Lord of Splendour and Beauty' ninety-five times between one noon and the next. Those engaged in heavy labour, who are advised to be discrete and restrained in availing themselves of this exemption.

These groups are also exempted from fasting in Islam. Bahá'u'lláh does not require missed days of fasting to be made up later, nor does He mention abstention from sexual relations. An individual who is exempt from fasting at any part of a day is exempt from fasting the entire day. Smoking, `Abdu'l-Baha explained, is called `drinking smoke' in Arabic, and so smoking is banned while one is fasting.

The fast is binding on Bahá'ís in all countries but it is an individual obligation, not enforceable by Bahá'í administrative institutions. The secondary regulations of fasting, such as the prohibition on smoking, are at present only binding on Bahá'ís of Middle Eastern background.

Bahá'ís are allowed to fast at other times of the year but as this is not encouraged, it is rarely done. Bahá'u'lláh permitted the making of vows to fast but preferred that such vows be `directed to such objectives as will profit mankind'.

While in Edirne Bahá'u'lláh revealed a number of prayers for fasting (munajat or alvah-i-siyam), although one of them contains a reference to `Akka. These prayers, some rather lengthy, are the most important statements on the spiritual meaning of the fast in the Bahá'í scripture: for example, '. . . Thou hast bidden all men to observe the fast, that through it they may purify their souls and rid themselves of all attachment to any one but Thee . . ' Fasting itself is only acceptable if it is done purely out of love for God.

Day dreaming of that cute guy

There is this cute guy in college that i have been eyeing for the pass couple of months...Don't remember when was the first time i spotted him....

Everytime i see him, i get all excited and my heart beat goes "dub dub dub dub dub dubdubdubdubdubdubdubdubdubdubdubdubdub........." sigh...and i feel like melting!

He is not THAT good looking, but i dont know what attracts me...perhaps his style.....the way he carry himself...

From a far, i can see that he is the kind of guy that is kinda shy but sweet!!! droollssssssss

I just hope that he doesnt notice me "stalking" him....

For now, i enjoy eyeing him from a distance.....although it would be so nice to actually get to know him........."dream dream dream..."...how nice if he could just come up to me and just say "how you doing?" hahahah....i would just evoparate into thin air!!!

Enjoyed myself....did you?

IT WAS A BLAST!!!!!!!

As i said earlier, we went to KLCC to enjoy ourselves after class...Drove there in 2 cars(Bee Suan's and Xin Me's). Got there and and straight away headed towards Genki Sushi for dinner (it was only 5 something but everyone was already hungry). We had good japanese food there...yum yum....May Chee got high eating wasabi and we laugh and laugh until we were all so full!

When we were satisfied, we headed to TGV to collect our tickets for the Pink Pather show at 7.20pm. After collecting the tickets, we went window shopping to kill time. ?Guess? was having sales man..up to 70%!! Bee Suan was so tempted to buy....hahahaha....

Time flew by like it was only 15 minutes and we had to go catch our movie...Bee Suan, Xin Me and May Chee didnt join us for the movie, so it was only the 4 of us (Lenzja, Elvin, Chee Cheong and myself). Pink Panther was a funny show lar....like all Steve Martin's shows. So it was a real stress-free show!

After the show, it was only 9pm and we walked around...Elvin and Chee Cheong both bought a pink shirt...the after effects of Pink Panther!!! ahahaha....Well, the girls in our class are trying to pink-anize all the guys....one by one they will have to surrender!! AHAHAHAHHAHA

Caught the Putra LRT and then the Komuter and then the bus back to Inti. It was already 11 something close to 12. Elvin was hungry again so, we went back to the room to freshen up and then headed to mamak again!! haahahah....Eat again...

Slept only at 3 something after chatting with Lenzja(bunked with Lenz for the night...THANKS LENZ) and woke up about 11.30am

Walked back home to bathe and relax and then join them for lunch again! and now i'm here...need to start with all the homework i have again...another stressful week!!!argh!!!!!

It was a good day yesterday and we shall have more outings like this!!!!!!

Alone again???

This weekend...my sister and her family are going down to Malacca again...so this weekend i'll be along again!!!!!

But thank goodness that later after class, a few of us (my classmates and i) are going down to town. We are heading to KLCC for some japanese food and maybe a movie...This week has been a really stressful week and all of us deserve a break time!! This week was stressful because of the BIO119 test that we had yesterday. It was 7 hard-core memorizing chapters! CRAZY!!!I'm going nuts just thinking about the subject!! I imagine my final exam.....~20 chapters......DIE!

After we come back later (most probably kinda late), I'll be bunking with my classmate, Lenzja tonight. Since i'll be alone at home and that it will be quite late, safer to just chill with my friend.

So i hope later everyone will have a heck of fun time relaxing and just chilling...before another hectic week begins again... 4 lab reports, 1 maths lab assignment, study for MCB122 test....and so so so so many more!!!!

And oh ya..i just realise that next week i start fasting!!!!Fasting period-2nd March to 20th March!!Then....Naw Ruz!!!!

Wow...it is already coming to march..isnt that scary??? Time really just ZOOM pass us like that....FREAKY!!!

Alone and lonely

Since my sister and Jia Wen went to labuan, the house has been so quiet....no playhouse disney channel, no sound of jia wen...miss her hugs already!!!!!HUGS!!!

My BTE test is over.Thank God!!! but i wonder how badly i did. i think i screwed up badly. My MCB test got postponed..Yahoo..more time to study........

Maths test on Monday, Biology of Organism on Thursday ( Biology of Organisms is a boring subject and one that needs the usage of your memory to the max, it mostly covers the taxonomy of all organisms). This Bio subject is a major killer. Imagine learning the characteristics, life cycles etc...etc...of every single living organisms that ever walked the face of the earth and those that are still walking. I am not joking.....from the smallest virus to that big huge whale..everything in-between kills too, bacteria, fungi, plants....you name it....we have to study it....

This subject is easy to understand, but then when it comes to memorizing, i'm dead. We have to remember like all the scientific name of every single organisms.....for example fungi can be categorized into 4 divisions: Basidiomycota, Zygomycota, Ascomycota and Deuteromycota. We have to know their characteristics, how they germinate, how they reproduce etc etc...
I'M GOING NUTS....If you have a way to remember all these, please tell me, cuz i need to know how to remember all this in my tiny brain!

Anyway, i'm feeling a slight headache now, and my tummy is feeling very uncomfortable due to eating a very very spicy tomyam mee with a totally empty tummy (my tummy is now burning).

Tomorrow, My sis and Jia Wen will be coming back, but they will be heading to Malacca. This weekend i'll be alone....and lonely....studying for my test the following week....sad sad....

I feel so crappy at the moment....

The festivity has come to an end....

Today (after 12am) is the last day of the 15-day Chinese New Year celebration. It went by just with a snap of a finger... Before the Chinese New Year, I was so excited, excited about my parents coming over, meeting all my relatives, collecting ang pow, just the feel of "lau juak"-ness...

Started college on the 9th day of CNY and it all went back to normal, my mum and dad went back to labuan, didn't meet up with my relatives, no more ang pow collecting...no more "lau juak"

Chap Goh Meh is here and will end soon, and it will be the start of another hectic week(hopefully not as bad as the last one). Last week, I had test and quiz everyday except monday and wednesday... so it was study study study....This coming Tuesday, Biotech test (1-14 chapters, psychotic lecturer), and Molecular and Cell Biology test (2-6 chapters), so study study study again...i'm going CRAZY.....

Next week, My sister and Jia Wen will be going to Labuan (damn, i want to go!!!!). They will be there for about 4 days, so will be sitting here miserable-oh-so-wanting-to-be-in-labuan studying for my tests.....*uhuks uhuks*

So.....WISHING ALL OF YOU A HAPPY DOGGY YEAR! HOPE THE DOG YEAR WILL BRING YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES TONNES OF HAPPINESS, PROSPERITY, LUCK, AND EVERYTHING GOOD THAT YOU WISH FOR!!!!HUGS AND KISSES EVERYONE!!!!!

10 Thing I Hate About You

This Poem is from the movie "10 Thing I Hate About You" starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. Me likey the poem...

10 Things I Hate About You

I hate the way you talk to me
And the way you cut your hair
I hate the way you drive your car
I hate it when you stare

I hate your big dumb combat boots
And the way you read my mind
I hate you so much it makes me sick
It even makes me rhyme

I hate the way you are always right
I hate it when you lie
I hate it when you make me laugh
Even worse when you make me cry

I hate it when you're not around
And the fact that you didn't call
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you
Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

The past week...

This whole week has been a busy one..

Sunday was the first day of Chinese New Year, went to my cousin June's place where most my relatives on my mum side were there. Came back to Jacqui's place and my uncle Raymond decided to go up to Genting to gamble, so 5 of them went up and only came down for dinner. Uncle Raymond came down with smiles from ear to ear....you know what i mean...*wink
Swam with my cousin Rica and my niece (seen in the previous pictures), had fun playing in the water with them. At night it was gambling time again..this time i lost big time...and immediately stop!!!!

Second day(Monday) - woke up relaxed with nothing to do. Szue Fei called and asked her to go to her house. So we decided to go since we have nothing to do. Before leaving, i joined Jacqui and Lars on their morning walk. Was really tired after that..see how unfit i am?? pitiful....
So we went back to Szue Fei's place (we all packed already). We had Pizza and Indian food for lunch seen there was nothing in the fridge! They started to gamble again, but i didnt want to anymore so i headed upstairs to my beloved lappie...

Third day(Tuesday) - Templer's Park was our destination. My 2 ee's place and we had fun there...My sister and I brought Jia wen to play at the waterfall/ stream at the back of my aunties place. She had so much fun there...Spent about an hour or more there and when it was time to get up..she didnt want to...but since the water was so cold, it was that good to stay too long in the cold water. Came up to my aunties place, and there was another gambling session going on.. Talk about Chinese New Year and Gamling.......

Fourth day(Wednesday) - No one to visit. So all of us headed to MegaMall. Dad wanted to buy his golf shoe, i wanted to buy a pair of new sneakers and a new pair of sandals(my Timberland sandals got stolen last week, damn heartache). So spent about 5 hours there and then headed home. I was happy with what i got, 2 pairs of footwear! Thanks Dad...

Fifth day(Thursday) - In the evening, my Uncle Raymond had an open house at his place in Shah Alam. He had called the Lion dance troupe to come perform for all his guest. It was a nice performance, both lion were good and quite entertaining. Although we thought that the clown that carries the fan was rather cheeky "gatal", kept shaking hands with the girls! hahahaha..

Sixth day(Friday) - Szue Fei, Shien Wei and Jia Wen left Nilai for Malacca to visit Shien Wei's family. They will only come back on Sunday. My parents and I just relaxed at home, chill and stuff...

Seventh day(Saturday-today) - Sent my parents to KLIA. Drove them there in the manual Kelisa. I havent driven a manual car in about 1 and half year, after passing my driving license. Both my parents car in Labuan are automatic. So kinda lost touch already...You must think its pathetic but its true...sad aint it?? But i manage to pull through... Tak mati engine....So i'm quite happy with myself....I can proudly say, i can drive a manual car although i would prefer a automatic one!!!tsktsk tsk

Eighth day(Sunday) - yet to come...stay tune...............

It is such a drag that i have to start class on monday. It will be one hectic week and i really hope that things will calm down and things will be more relaxed. The week that we start class, test and quizes fill up the week and i haven't started studying on anything. Have been having to much of fun and getting very worried already....but dont seem to do anything about it! ARGH..someone help me quick!!!!!!!

I think thats about it...I'll be all alone for today and hope to get some work done!!!! So.....GONG XI FA CAI...have fun with the 8 days left of the Chinese New Year!!! Continue to collect those red packets, enjoy!!!!!!
