Summer Holiday

Just got back from London yesterday and let me tell you, It has been real hectic.

I'm not complaining but its really tiring. My parents came over from Malaysia on the 7th of July and I went down to London a day earlier to get them. Spent a 2 nights there (one night for my parents) at my Aunt Tammy's place and headed up to Preston (Cousin Pearly's place) for 2 nights. We were able to go to the Lake District to snap some beautiful pictures! Althought the weather was lousy (rainy weather), the scenery was still beautiful.

After 2 nights in Preston, drove (rented a car) up to Newcastle and Sunderland for my graduation. The weather was still sucky for us to do any sight seeing. Only manage to go around Newcastle town and Sunderland's National Glass Museum. Graduation came and went and it was good. I'm proud of myself for being able to graduate. Finally, BSc (Hons) Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science Graduate!! Woot!!

We were still in a rush, which meant we left Newcastle the night of my graduation back down to London, so that we will have time in London before starting our tour. The weather in London cleared a little (wasn't as bad as the week before), so we went strawberry picking! It was fun picking strawberries that we didnt realise the amount of strawberries that we picked! i think we picked like GBP 12 pounds of strawberries, and on top of that, we picked blackberries, raspberries (which to me is like cough mixture), blackcurrent, plums and also french beans (which my 2 ko (aunt) was soo excited about -_-")

Next day (this was already on the 12th of July), started our tour from London. 7 days tour (which i think i will blog individually) to The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and France. Met some really interesting people on the tour and hope to keep in touch with them. The wonders of facebook again! :P. The tour ended on the 19th back in London and we were all very very tired!

On the 20th, we went to watch Lion King the musical and all i can say that it was lovely. The moment it started, i cried..i was definitely overwhelmed! Enjoyed it really....highly recommended!!! SO i guess 1 musical down, tonnes more to go!

It has been a very tiring holiday, but it was fun hanging out with my parents and i miss them already! THanks Dad and Mom for this trip (my graduation gift) and oh ya, Thanks dad for the watch! me loving it!!!!

I know I'm lazy!!

I know i have neglected this blog and haven't been blogging....even i have all the time in the world right now!....but i guess when you dont have the time, it the time when you feel like blogging all the time...but when you are free......you just dont wanna do anything!

I've already moved out of Precinct, my home for the past 8 months (almost 9). I miss it dearly. With Ernest and Callum missing already, it is so quiet!! I really miss BLOCK 6!!!!this place that i'm staying (Clanny HOuse) now is far away from town that it is just a pain just to go grocery shopping. all i do is stay at home because town is so far. and from today onwards, there is no shuttle bus that the uni provide anymore! so if i have to go to town, its either walking or taking the metro.

Life has been slow after all the hectic exams and all those moving, but the days passes tooo fast! Now its already saturday and i still think that it is a wednesday! ARGH!!! in like 9 days time, my parents will be coming!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!! so fast!! i really can't imagine lar.......crazy you know.....i really miss them and really can't wait to meet them!!!!

Nothing much has happened lately, just that I'll be on a moving marathon for this 2 weeks. As i just moved in to this place on monday, I'll have to move again on the 3rd to newcastle....i have to move everything!!! crazy.....need to move everything before i go down to London to meet up with my parents. Its all happening soo fast....too fast in fact that i dont think i am enjoying it!!!

So what have i been up to since i have nothing better to do?
I have been looking for jobs, part time and also full time!!! part time to fill my time now, but i dont think that it will happen anymore, since its only a week away from my going down to London. I'm also job-hunting for a full time job that is hopefully related to what i studied. Hopefully all will be well. To those who dont already know, I want to stay here for at least another year to gain experience first, before i decide to go back to malaysia. The course that i took is not that popular in Malaysia, so i guess it would be a good idea to gain some experience here in the UK before tapau-ing what I have learnt back home! If you ask me whether i miss home? YES I DO...i miss my family, my niece and nephew, my relatives, my friends...the FOOD!!! sigh.......i aim to go back to malaysia during CNY next year...is that possible? i really hope so!!!

I have also been watching series!! on this website something like youtube, but its a chinese one. Dont get shock that i'm watching chinese shows, but I'm not. its just a chinese hosting thingy, but they have shows like Friends and Sex and the City. so that is what I have been watching! they have all the episodes and they are labelled so nicely that you can watch them in sequence! I've already watched Sex and the City till Season 6!! almost done. I started to watch this since i've watch the movie and was in the mood of watching it in sequence! Yesterday i started with Friends. I know my sister would go like " you did that marathon before already"...but who cares....it is my all time favourite tv shows and i dont think i'll ever get bored with them!!

Other than that, life has been boring!! I can't go shopping cuz town is so far and i need money!!! sigh......... someone do entertain me okay?

I just can't believe that I've already been here for like 9 months!! crazy!!! I think time just went by without telling me, and im getting really annoyed!

On Friday the 30th of May, I sat for my last exams!!! If all goes well...that paper would be the last of my degree....can't believe all this happened so quickly..i never thought that this day would actually come....i always thought that i would be studying all my life..!!!

Anyway..enough about exams!!!! I need to stop worrying, so i'll try to stop now by not talking about it!!!

Friday night was our graduation ball...I personally wasn't expecting it to be very grand but it was just a chance to dress up. being science students, all we wear to classes are just jeans, trainers and t-shirt.....going into the lab is not a place where you'd wanna dress up...

So, did my own hair, my own make up, did make up for Wen Ying and got ready!!! Took the cab there and we saw everyone so nicely dress..i was scared that we were overly dressed but when we reached...we saw girls in gowns and things like that...so we went like "phew"... chilled and waited for everyone to come.......took loads of pictures!!! and it was fun!!! the food that night was not too bad....the started was this salmon thingy which was really nice..i really liked it..but it made me miss sushi a lot...i guess there's one thing to do when i go back to Malaysia (dunno when that is though). the main meal was a choice of steak, chicken and a vege something.....i had the steak and it was not too bad...

They had a band playing after the desserts were serve which was nice, they played really nice music but not many people gave response....which was kinda sad....i mean i was one of them lar...but if there were more people on the dance floor..im sure id join in!!

So after that, we headed into town, to this pub called ttonic (yes, thats spelled with double t and not a typo). its where my classmate works part time so got to meet some of her friends that were bartending there...after that, hopped to another pub, Paddy wacks to meet up with some of her other friends. it was nice to get to know some other people and we met up with our lab assistant there....it was nice chillaxing with them ...worrying about nothing !!

But we were too tired so after leaving paddy wacks, they wanted to go back to ttonic, but i decided to go back home....too tired already.......

so home we went , showered and plopped into bed!!!

Thankfully my next paper is next friday, so I've got some time to prepare for this paper, for this is the most unprepared paper...

Besides the exam, things has been rather slow. I guess exams do drain the energy out of everything else... that is why i really can't wait for the exams to be over!! My last paper will be on the 30th of May and that night itself would be graduation night. I know you guys would be wondering why graduation night is so soon, even when we dont even know if we have graduated or not! I guess its just one night for people who have sat for exams to dress and up and let their hair down again! Thankfully we dont have any papers after that, cuz i have the feeling some of them still have papers after graduation night. I really hope the response to this graduation ball would be good!! PARTY!!!

I've suddenly lost my train of thought and just ran out what to say!

I guess i'll just come back another time when i get my mind flowing again!

oh ya, today while i was watching America's Next Top Model on Youtube, this quote really got me laughing :

Spring Break

Its been a while since i last blogged!! it felt like ages!!!

So many things has happened since i last blog....i mean not huge life-changing things but just events that make uni life all better!!!

The last time i blogged, it was all the celebrations!! Naw Ruz with the Chester-le-Street community and then easter at Victor's place. It was all fun and being with everyone that time was just amazing!!! Gathering at Kamran's place for Feast was really refreshing eventhough i was so tired! and then sunday at Victor's place was just so much fun!! we laughed till there was no tomorrow!! hahahah...it was supposed to be like a late lunch thingy which started at 3.. but it ended only at around midnight! I didnt expect that it would last that long so i didn't pack my stuff to stay over!!! THanks to Lenz and Stella for accommodating me!!...Lenz's room is my second room in UK!! i think i've spent so many nights there already!! Thanks lenz wang!

The last week of Uni before the spring break was good. I had to prepare 2 presentations that week, one for my dissertation (Final Year Project) and one was for my Forensic Analysis. it all went well and I am very happy with them..besides the presentations, it was all fun and games....At night was board game time with the housemates (must remind myself to take pictures while playing, cuz it is so much fun). Playing board games with them bunch of people are just funny!!! Games that we play are Game of Life, Yatzee, Thief of Baghdad, Cluedo...i guess we should explore more games!!

Well, HOlidays are here and this holiday is gonna be a studying holiday...i need to remind myself that after this holidays, its finals for me and i really need to do well!! I'm not aiming for too high but i should really try my best right????? i need to allocate at least half of my waking hour during this holiday to work....maybe even more!!!! someone should remind me every hour!!!

Before all the madness of studying, my friends and I went down to Manchester on Monday for a day trip. Reach there around noon, which was good because we were all hungry and Cheryl's boyfriend, Dominic brought us to this famous Dim Sum place for Lunch... Ate so much but it was very cheap!!!! it was like half price for lunch so we ordered like crazy......ate so much....i guess to fuel up the day. Went to Old Trafford after lunch to go see the FAMOUS Manchester United Football stadium. It was huge and the shop was nice..they had so many things there.... I bought myself a Man U cap. Although im not a huge football fan, its just a must to buy something... Sorry to all those who asked me get Man U jerseys for them..its freaking 57 quids! madness okay.....thats like what RM 400 ?? siao man......wait till i become a billionaire in the UK then i'll buy them for you okay???

Besides the stadium, we didnt do much since we didnt have time, but the manchester is a very nice city!! its not too busy like London, but not as dead as Sunderland. So if you like the just a normal paced life, manchester is definitely a nice place to be.... will definitely make a trip there again....

Lazy...

to the brink that i just stare at my laptop!!!

I tell you...i have been so lazy this past few weeks!! I need to start to work hard!! Exams in May and i really need to energy to start from NOW!!! at this very moment, i'm in the Uni library because the internet connection back in my room is HORRIBLE! they have been doing some maintanence work...and since 2 weeks go, the internet has been crappy!! what kind of maintanence is this?? instead of upgrading, the internet has been worse than ever!! I dont know why they have to fiddle with the internet when in the first place....there was nothing wrong with the internet!!! damn irritating lar....People have got assignments to pass up and the internet being down is not helping at all....and also people who are addicted to facebook like me...it is really upsetting with it keeps displaying "page cannot be displayed"!!!

Anyway, I'm still alive in this small little town of Sunderland. Busy with Uni and i think that takes most of my time. Assignments are pilling up and I sometimes just get fed up with it and wish i was like doing something that didnt involve my brain so much!! ahahahaha....always think how nice if i was like doing something like dance or performing arts..something so much more fun?? I really dont know why i put myself through hell like this??!! Please someone tell me lar.... Maybe in the end of all of this, i end up marrying some rich guy who can afford to take care of me and i dont have to use this degree to earn a living?? ahahah.. I really need to wake up....

I've got just a few more months and till then i need to buck up and STUDY!! I know i need chill because everytime i think about my work and exams that are going to be in May, i'll go all irritated and just can't seem to think straight! I really hope i dont go crazy just by going through all this!!!

Besides uni, everything else is fine, have been enjoying food a lot, especially this week...On valentines day, a few of us went out this to this restaurant, Wetherspoon to have dinner. dinner was good, curry with loads of spices! better than what i expected, being in a english country, you'd expect that the curry would be bleh...but this was really good!! spicy enough and full of flavour!! with naan, rice, and poppadam!! yum yum!!!

You might think that I've been spending a lot since you see pictures of me going to London twice, barcelona, shopping, going out to eat?? I am really proud to say I've been spending lower than I expected. Yesterday I calculated how much i've spent while the 5 months I've been here and I can say that I can go for a shopping spree!! ahahahah..just kidding...Dad, i know you are reading this so dont worry okay?? Love you!!

Anyway, i better get back to doing some reading!!! will upload pictures of what has been going on this past few weeks...If you have facebook, you'd be updated with all the pictures...it is just this blog that I havent uploaded any pictures to...

GONG XI FA CAI AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

This year is the second time away from home during chinese new year ( the first was in india). I miss home the most now, knowing that my family will be having get-togethers and the FOOD!! Yesterday, while i was on webcam with my parents and my dad's side of the relative as they were having the reunion dinner, I really felt left out and made me miss home so much more!!!

The worse part was the dinner that i was suppose to go for the "so called" reunion dinner turned out to be crap! the food was lousy and the atmosphere was pathetic. they were playing english oldies instead of chinese new year songs....you guys may think that i'm hypocritical being that when i'm back in malaysia, i always hated (or rather annoying) chinese new year songs being played in shopping complexes and in the airplane, because the tunes just get stuck in your head for so long and its irritating...BUT now being in UK..i want it played because I dont feel the festivity! I need it to feel that it is actually CHINESE NEW YEAR!!

Today, the first day of chinese new year.....if i was back home, i would be at my cousin's place, eating all the yummy food. BUT now i am in the UK, first day of chinese new year is going to the lab at 10 in the morning, eating chips for lunch and sitting in front of this PC!!!

I guess this is just another day!

For once it snowed decently

This is not the first time that it snowed in Sunderland but this is the first time it snowed long enough to actually be happy about. The last few time it snowed was 5 minutes snow that i felt it was better if it didnt snow! ahahaha... I mean this is not the first time i saw snow (first was in China), but its pathetic! I know that sunderland does not snow till its a foot tall but let it snow until we can see it on the floor alright?

But its not that fun when it snows with they HEAVY WIND!!! snow gets into your mouth, eyes, nostrils!!! damn irritating leh...walking back from class was torture the other day!! Thank God for my huge winter jacket, i was protected from the snow, which melting once it came in contact with any surface....you could see people getting wet from the snow...i was DRY (although my shoes were wet, lesson learned....WEAR BOOTS)!!!
